About us

I lead Luke Barnett Kitchens with a clear focus on thoughtful design, honest advice, and long-term outcomes. I stay closely involved in every project to ensure layouts are properly considered, decisions are challenged where necessary, and kitchens are designed to work in real daily use  not just on paper. My role isn’t to sell kitchens, but to guide people through complex decisions with clarity and confidence, so the end result feels considered, calm, and right for the home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please email us at enquiries@barnettkitchens.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No.

We discuss realistic kitchen cost ranges early, but final pricing is only established once the kitchen has been properly designed. Guessing a fixed price before design usually leads to compromises and disappointment later.

We work from a design studio rather than a traditional showroom.

Samples and materials are introduced once the design direction is clear, so decisions are made in context rather than from rows of displays.

Yes — in ranges.

Before any design work begins, we talk openly about realistic budget ranges based on layout complexity, storage requirements, and level of finish. This allows you to decide whether the project feels viable before committing to design.

Turning a range into a precise, buildable figure requires proper design.

Because it wouldn’t be honest.

Until a kitchen is designed, key decisions around layout, storage, integration, and specification haven’t been made. A fixed price at that stage would be guesswork and that rarely benefits the client.

Yes.

Design is professional work that directly affects how a kitchen functions, how it’s built, and how it performs long-term. We only design kitchens as part of a formal design engagement.

Design fees are explained clearly before work begins and credited back on order where appropriate.

That’s completely fine.

There is no obligation beyond any stage. The design engagement still stands on its own value, providing clarity and direction even if you choose not to continue.

We would rather part professionally than deliver the wrong kitchen.

Sometimes — and sometimes not.

Our kitchens are designed as systems, not lists of units. Because layout, storage, and integration vary significantly, direct comparisons are rarely meaningful.

Our focus is on delivering the right kitchen, not the cheapest one.

Yes.

We regularly provide supply-only kitchens with full design input and clear documentation, ensuring the kitchen is installed as intended by your chosen builder.

No - and that’s intentional.

We work best with clients who value planning, honest advice, and long-term thinking. If you’re collecting multiple free quotes or prioritising speed over clarity, our approach may not be the right fit.

Good kitchens are planned, not sold.

We design kitchens properly.
We discuss cost honestly.
We make decisions with intent.

And we would rather slow a project down — or walk away — than deliver the wrong kitchen.
